Even though Brazil doesn't have a prominent place in the area of Machine Translation, this is a field that is being developed in the country and counts with many projects that have been developed and are in progress in universities throughout the country. The Project UNL-Brazil uses the UNL interlanguage in a machine translation system aiming its use to Portuguese. The project used the DeCo encoder and manually prepared the UNL encoding. The results achieved were considered positive by the team, since complex sentences could be made.〔The use of the Universal Networking Language for devising an automatic sentence generator for Brazilian Portuguese. http://www.linguateca.pt/publicacoes/D.artigos_rev.en.html〕 At UNISINOS, there is a proposal to improve a tool that translates sign language, Sign WebMessage. The project believes is possible to improve the system by including new elements in the SWML, some heuristics and Portuguese sentences generated with morpho-syntatic rules. USP has much research in Computational Linguistics. The university has NILC (Interinstitutional Center for Computational Linguistics), which has many studies related to Machine Translation. One of the projects of the institution is ReTraTos, which started in 2003 and finished in 2007. This machine translation system is based on linguistic resources induced from aligned parallel texts.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=ReTraTos )〕 In 2014, the university is organizing Propor, the International Conference on Computational Processing of Portuguese – the event is held in Brazil and Portugal in a biennial or triennial event.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=browser - Please update to a modern browser )〕 Another university that has projects in the field is UFRGS. The project CAMELEON is a joint research with Université Joseph Fourier and aims at developing lexical resources in order to build multilingual applications. The languages of the project are Portuguese, French, English and UNL; and the tools used are collaborative and automatic. This project started in March 2011 and finished in March 2014.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Cooperação Internacional - CAPES / Instituto de Informatica UFRGS )〕 == References == 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Machine translation in Brazil」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
